1.45 TROYTOWN BAR MAIDEN HURDLE 2M

Tamlough Boy fought hard to land a Punchestown bumper last year and has recorded a couple of good placed efforts since but no run since April is a worry. Newcomer Market’s Field comes from the yard which won this race last year and deserves respect. Racing Stripes is another debutant to be watched, while Court Adjourned landed her point-to-point in fine style. Venezia has been going nowhere in flat handicaps but may enjoy the switch in codes.

Allenstown Kid has had plenty of opportunities in maiden hurdles thus far. Redrobin put together a sequence of four placed efforts before falling last time out at Down Royal and could find this a good opportunity, but preference is for French import Rogue Agent. His two outings for current connections were very pleasing and he is showing steady improvement.

Selection: ROGUE AGENT

2.15 RACING AGAIN WEDNESDAY 5TH OCTOBER HANDICAP HURDLE 2M

Baby Jake won off similar mark earlier in summer at Catterick and will relish the easy ground. Cillian’s Return deserves consideration on past form but his year-long absence is a worry. Bashful Beauty makes a quick reappearance after winning a chase at Ballinrobe on Tuesday. He is in good form and warrants respect.

Crystal Pearl appears to be at too high of a mark to make an impression, while the consistent Carlowsantana will run another decent race. Mount Beckham landed a maiden hurdle at Down Royal on St Patrick’s Day. He has enjoyed no luck since but will appreciated the drop in class. Tajseer has been running well in maiden hurdles without hitting the mark and will make his presence felt in a big way.

Selection: TAJSEER

Next best: Mount Beckham

2.50 AT THE RACES HURDLE 2M 6F

The race is weighted to suit De Plotting Shed but that he’s been off the track for five months is a slight concern. However, he was a runaway 47-length victor at Clonmel in February. He’s up against Moylisha Tim, who is also well-treated at the weights. He would need to reproduce his run behind Marinero at Tipperary in July to figure. Red Giant was a very good winner of his maiden hurdle at Wexford in June before capturing a novice hurdle at Kilbeggan just five days later. Everyday Everyhour has a chance based on his Punchestown maiden hurdle victory while Glendine River landed two races at Tramore in August.

Selection: RED GIANT

Next best: De Plotting Shed

3.25 BROGAN GROUP HANDICAP HURDLE 2M 6F

Polly Manning was an easy winner of her point-to-point but hasn’t taken to hurdles too convincingly. Jack Slade may run well off this mark. He fell when going well at Down Royal last time out and will seeking compensation. West Light could be dangerous off a light weight.

Call Vinnie fell on his handicap debut and then finished a credible fifth at Down Royal. He has claims, but must improve. Mill Quest was second to Diamond Dame at Listowel last week and is still showing signs of improvement so could go close. Teacher’s Pet was a winner of a Downpatrick mares handicap hurdle last time but, despite going up in the weights, continues to improve. The Jazz Singer has come down enough in the weights recently to be competitive here. Rockey Storm will be suited by the ground and the trip. He put in a good display at Galway and runs off the same mark today.

Selection: ROCKEY STORM

Next best: The Jazz Singer

4.00 EMERALD FACILITY SERVICES BEGINNERS CHASE 2M 4F

Chitu gave good account of himself to finish third at Kilbeggan on his chasing debut. Previous to that, he showed huge improvement to land a handicap hurdle at the same venue when at 50/1. If progression continues, he’ll have a huge chance.

Hard To Call has had chances over fences but has failed to sparkle, being beaten 59L on his latest outing but over a longer trip than ideal. The trip today should suit better. Isabella Liberty makes a quick reappearance after falling early on her third chase outing last week and will be a big player. Phil’s Magic fell at the fifth in the Kerry National. He was in good form entering the summer and is capable of a big run, as is State Of Origin.

Selection: ISABELLA LIBERTY

Next best: Chitu

4.35 MEATH FARM MACHINERY HANDICAP CHASE 2M 4F

Realt Mor did not complete the Kerry National and makes a quick reappearance. Previously, he was a tidy winner at Ballinrobe and another good run is likely. Colbert Station has had no chasing success since 2012 when rated 132. The 12-year-old is now 130 but still capable of putting it up to the youngsters.

Kylestyle will need to drop a few more pounds to be in with a chance of winning these types of events, but Hash Brown is back at a competitive mark in a lower-class event.

Myles Ahead won’t be troubled by the ground or the trip, and neither will Na Trachtalai Abu, who has been running very well lately. Another big run will be expected. Black Zero hasn’t been chasing since February but is at a competitive mark.

Selection: REALT MOR

Next best: Black Zero

5.10 BECTIVE RESTAURANT (PRO/AM) INH FLAT RACE 2M

Not too many enter the equation here. Agent Boru was a good winner of a point-to-point, while Banjo, Vertical Illusion and Eagle Ridge are debutants from very capable yards.

However, tentative preference is for another debutante The Rory Story. Noel Meade has Nina Carberry in the plate for this son of Flemensfirth and will be surely be thereabouts at the finish.

Selection: THE RORY STORY

Next best: Agent Boru
