2.15 BREWS HILL RACE 5F 182YDS

Beach Belle could be worth taking a chance on. She has something to find on ratings and she wasn’t at her best on her last two starts of 2014. However the return to this shorter trip will suit this six-furlong listed winner who was beaten just over 2½l in last year’s Phoenix Stakes. Beach Belle is given a tentative vote over the 113-rated Toscanini who was a ½l second to the Phoenix Stakes winner Dick Whittington in the Anglesey Stakes last July. He competed with credit in a number of quality contests last season and he ended the campaign with a fine 1½l second to Gleneagles in the National Stakes. His form is easily the best on offer.

This could fall to one of the newcomers and Waipu Cove makes plenty of appeal. He hails from a yard that has already sent out several juvenile winners and this colt is a son of the Queen Mary Stakes winner Langs Lash. Stone Mountain was beaten almost 10 lengths by Argentero on his debut at Naas last month but he did run better than his final sixth place position would indicate. There should be more to come from him and he will appreciate the switch to better ground. Gleine is another who should improve on her debut sixth behind Madame Thunder while Auld Enemy and Promised Money, who is a half-sister to the stakes-winning juvenile Beldale Memory, are others to note.

Selection: WAIPU COVE

Next Best: Stone Mountain

Lady Mega may prevail on her first start of the season. She won first time out last year and was second on her debut as a juvenile, so she can run well fresh and she is lining up over a trip that has provided two of her three victories. The form she showed in handicaps throughout last season gives her a major chance and, while she may prefer quicker ground, she was placed behind Due Diligence in a six-furlong handicap on slow ground this time last year. Bubbly Bellini has already won twice this season and defeated In Salutem by 2¾l in a Naas handicap last time. He has crept up 12lb in the weights lately but still has a major chance. Master Speaker, a runner-up on his three starts this term, is another contender. Joe Eile is quite interesting as he is some 15lb lower than when last running in Ireland.

Selection: LADY MEGA

The supplementary entry Answered is marginally preferred to Forgotten Rules. A promising sort last season, Answered looked better than ever when running out an impressive 5½l winner of the Martin Molony Stakes at Limerick last month. This longer trip won’t present him with any problems and it was encouraging to see the Martin Molony second, Waltzing Matilda, run creditably in the Mooresbridge Stakes next time. Answered has an edge in race fitness over Forgotten Rules whose last run came when he defeated Biographer in an Ascot Group 2 last October. Undefeated in three starts, Forgotten Rules is unquestionably a top notch stayer but he may just be vulnerable on his return. Biographer is also respected while last year’s Irish Derby second Kingfisher adds further interest to the line up.

Selection: ANSWERED

Next Best: Forgotten Rules

4.25 EXCELEBRATION MAIDEN 1M 5F

Time To Inspire is taken to follow up his encouraging debut second in a 1m 2f Curragh maiden last month where he was beaten ¾l by Sandro Botticelli. His performance that day suggested that a longer trip would hold no fears for him - he is a brother to Forgotten Rules - and that initial outing is possibly the best piece of form on offer. Time To Inspire is chosen ahead of Ivanovich Gorbatov who was third to Vilman in a nine furlong Tipperary maiden on his only start last season. Ivanovich Gorbatov is bidding to give Aidan O’Brien a fifth straight win in this race. Of the others My Twinkle is interesting as she steps up markedly in trip following two solid efforts over shorter trip.

Selection: TIME TO INSPIRE

Next Best: Ivanovich Gorbatov

A hopeful vote goes to Curvy to follow up her course and distance success from last month. The Galileo filly picked up a 12lb hike in the ratings for that 3½l defeat of Ringside Humour but she did appear to win with something to spare that day and she might be able to maintain her progression. Ringside Humour was bidding for a hat-trick on that occasion and she is now 9lbs better off which makes her a major threat to Curvy. Tsundoku ran quite a nice race on her comeback when finishing third to Dragon Fei and Jeremy’s Girl on her reappearance at the Curragh. She could do best of that trio this time and may emerge as a leading conteder.

Selection: CURVY

Next Best: Tsundoku

5.30 POUR MOI EBF MAIDEN 1M

Shinghari might be able to make a winning debut for a yard that has done very well in this sphere since the outset of the season. The Aga Khan-owned son of Cape Cross is out of a winning daughter of Kalanisi and hails from a decent middle distance family. Despite his inexperience Shinghari could overcome Jinsha Lake whose only start last season saw him finish an encouraging 4½l second to Mohaayed in a mile maiden at this track which has produced several subsequent winners. The 83-rated Dawn Mirage showed up well on each of his start last season and looks up to winning a maiden. His fourth to Portage at the Curragh in September is a good run.

Selection: SHINGHARI

Next Best: Jinsha Lake
