1.40 ATHASSEL HOUSE STUD EBF MAIDEN 1M 1F

Not a great maiden to get Super Sunday underway, but preference goes to Ballydoyle inmate Galilean. The preferred mount of Donnacha O’Brien was a staying-on third on his debut behind Territory and will improve for that outing. Lucknow should improve on his Gowran Park debut and could challenge for a place. Simafar was not in the best of moods at Listowel, needing a forceful ride from Pat Smullen, and is probably best watched. Three Jacks is another to consider. He is progressing nicely after grabbing third at the Curragh a fortnight ago. Others to note are Ontheiflist and Tang Dynasty.

Selection: GALILEAN

Next best: Lucknow

2.10 COOLMORE STUD HOME OF CHAMPIONS CONCORDE STAKES (Group 3) 7F 100YDS

Jet Setting, the star of Adrian Keatley’s yard, hasn’t quite kicked on since winning the Irish 1000 Guineas but she will find this an easier opportunity to get back to winning ways. She is the highest-rated horse in the race and, with no trouble in running, she should land the prize.

The Happy Prince showed guts to win at the Curragh last week and has the potential to cause an upset, while Flight Risk has a couple of pounds to find with that colt based on that outing last week. Dolce Strega enjoyed Group 3 success early in the summer and could put in a good shift.

Selection: JET SETTING

Next best: The Happy Prince

2.45 THE TOTE.COM HANDICAP 7F 100YDS

A really competitive handicap with cases for several runners. Military Angel and Seanie are both back at competitive marks and could be involved. Master Speaker comes into the equation based on his second here in early August. Severus could challenge off a low weight, and Best Not Argue has gone up some 13lb for a comfortable Gowran success, but others are preferred.

Stenographer is competing in his first handicap. He won his Curragh maiden in good style but will need to step up to land this prize. Canary Row was a winner at Listowel on his latest outing and has a very good chance of following that up here. Tribal Path, third behind Canary Row that day, could get involved with a little extra effort. However, Mizaah has been running really well since an eye-catching victory at the Curragh, when beating Fainleog in May, and he sets the standard.

Selection: MIZAAH

Next best: Stenographer

3.20 ISTABRAQ HURDLE (GRADE 2) 2M

An interesting contest and a duel between Ivan Grozny and Hargam, with the pair probably having the race between them. Ivan Grozny is already a Grade 3 winner this year and was a tremendous all-the-way winner at Galway during the Festival soon after.

Hargam, owned by JP McManus, travels from Nicky Henderson’s yard and is the mount of Mark Walsh. He’s been running in high-class hurdle races and could appreciate this drop in standard. He finished less than 8L behind Faugheen at Kempton and comes to this race fresh.

Plinth is a recent Kilbeggan winner latest but had to battle for that victory and is up against it today.

Selection: IVAN GROZNY

Next best: Hargam

3.55 JOE MAC NOVICE HURDLE (GRADE 3) 2M

Penhill did nothing wrong when landing a similar event at Listowel and a repeat performance will see him scoop the pot here. His main rival will be the Gigginstown House Stud-owned Bel Sas, who appears for trainer Joseph O’Brien very quickly after arriving from Willie Mullins yard. He is well-held by Penhill on their clash at Listowel and runs with a first-time tongue strap.

Timiyan was an easy winner at Listowel after an average hurdle debut last year but will come on for the spin.

Selection: PENHILL

Next best: Bel Sas

4.25 WOODLANDS HOTEL ADARE HANDICAP HURDLE 2M

Another competitive handicap on this Tipperary card. Nine Stitches could make his presence felt over his favoured trip, while Rocky Court has been chasing lately but could arrive over hurdles fresh.

Derulo is interesting on his handicap and hurdle debut and although Black Benny is a recent Down Royal winner, he may find this a tough task.

Lofgren has some really nice runs behind him lately and is in good form. Another good run is expected but preference goes to Lilly The Lioness. She is bang in form this year, is at a very competitive mark, and will not be troubled by ground or trip.

Others to warrant consideration are Prickly, Rosie Alice, Ballyadam Brook, Cradle Mountain, Hallmark, and handicap debutante Oighear Dubh.

Selection: LILLY THE LIONESS

Next best: Lofgren

5.00 LIKE A BUTTERFLY NOVICE CHASE (GRADE 3) 2M 4F

If taking to fences, high-class hurdler Alpha Des Obeaux will take all the beating. He has a string of top-notch performances under his belt, being beaten into the runners-up slot by the likes of Thistlecrack, At Fishers Cross, Arctic Fire, Nichols Canyon, and Douvan.Westerner Lady, who is on a run of five consecutive victories, warmed up this by breezing through two races at Kilbeggan and Listowel, and will be poised to pounce should Alpha Des Obeaux show any weakness.

Sandymount Duke is seeking a hat-trick and will be a very tough customer. Tiger Roll has a bit to find with Deans Road, who could cause problems of his own. Full Cry is another seeking a hat-trick of wins, while the lightly weighted Tocororo has potential to run a decent race.

Selection: ALPHA DES OBEAUX

Next best: Westerner Lady

5.35 KENYON STREET TRADERS (PRO/AM) INH FLAT RACE 2M

Dos Picas demands respect after an easy Roscommon bumper success, but fading close home at Listowel causes some worry. Dr Mikey has a big chance based on a 6L beating of Little Folke, who was first past the post at Clonmel on Thursday. Mountain Rock is a dual bumper winner, but was just doing enough to score both times.

Take a chance with Sillogue Pio with the very capable Johnny Barry on board. He was a very impressive winner at Clonmel three weeks ago, shaking off two uninspiring spins last spring.

Selection: SILLOGUE PIO

Next best: Dr Mikey
