Qualimita comes with a bit of a health warning after being sent off 7/2 or shorter for all bar one of her seven starts under rules, and being beaten each time. The €500,000 point-to-point recruit also wears a tongue-tie.

However, the Dublin Racing Festival third and blacktype bumper mare looks to have a most golden opportunity to open her account here and is very difficult to oppose.

Russellsbelle was on her way to winning a maiden hurdle at Listowel when last seen in June 2024 only to fall at the last.

Her lack of a recent run is the main concern, as well as being 9lb wrong at the weights with the selection.

Long Gone, race-fit from a recent third at Limerick, needs to improve on her hurdles form to win but does seem to like decent ground, won a bumper in good style and Alex Harvey’s 5lb claim is bound to be a help.

The standard that Soir De Garde was running to when second at Punchestown in November and third at Leopardstown over Christmas is likely more than good enough to win a maiden hurdle of this standard for Willie Mullins.

A half-brother to Champion Hurdle winner State Man and Grade 1 Royal Bond Novice Hurdle scorer Statuaire, he has plenty going for him if putting it all together on his first start in this sphere.

San Aer is 0-12 over hurdles and rated 101 so has work to do to win a maiden hurdle, but his experience will stand him in good stead and this type of ground could be in his favour for tackling a hurdles race.

Dunkerque is worth a market check on his second start for Gavin Cromwell (sixth when easy to back last time).

With a rating of 114, two recent seconds and ample hurdling experience to her name, Fairyland Opera is a standout for Lorna Fowler in what looks a weak maiden hurdle.

The ground will be much different to her recent placed showings on soft ground but she did finish third in a maiden hurdle on good-to-yielding earlier in the season at Naas.

Andy Slattery and Cian Quirke have been among the winners this week and Keep Kool Coko, who would have been entitled to come on from his reappearance at Naas 10 days ago, should be involved at the business end for that combination.

Twoplustwo Equals looked to do too much in front on her first run in 313 days last time and could be seen to better effect now dropping back down in trip.

She also returns to a track where she finished a decent third in a mares’ maiden hurdle as 5/4 favourite back in August 2022 (one of several horses well backed on that card).

Judging by the absences she’s had in recent seasons, she possibly hasn’t been the easiest to train but was only beaten a neck in second off this very mark previously (down 2lb for latest run).

This is a low-grade affair and it will be interesting to see whether the best of Jonny Mansie can be seen here after tailing off the last twice.

He has been sent off single-figure prices on each of his last four starts and now gets first-time blinkers. His third to Slotty Dotty at Punchestown was encouraging enough.

Stumblin In is entitled to improve from her recent reappearance.

Lilian Bland showed she’s in great heart when winning over hurdles at Downpatrick a fortnight ago and could give Niall Hennessy another victory closer to home, if able to be as effective off 11lb higher over fences.

She’s ground-versatile, stays well and is at the right end of the weights.

On Lovers Walk is 0-14 but has reached the frame seven times so looks place material again, with the ground not a big concern for him.

Whether Cheerful Chap wants conditions as quick as this is debatable but has won around here before and arrives to the seaside track on the back of his best chasing run (second to Canal End in €60,000 handicap chase at Navan three weeks ago).

Trainer Andrew McNamara was on the scoresheet last weekend at Bellewstown and could continue the winning theme here with Enjoy The Dream, who has form in much better company than this and has the benefit of five previous chasing runs to call on.

It’s possible this ground could be on the lively side for her, but she has flat form on good and ran with credit last time behind Lilian Bland at Navan six weeks ago.

Both of Be Fierce’s career wins have come at Tramore, on heavy and yielding. He hasn’t been seen since New Year’s Day but has won when fresh before.

In The Trenches receives weight from all rivals and has sound place claims, but a record of nine seconds and four thirds while being 0-23 is off-putting.

Prince Of Air, a winner at Thurles two starts ago, lacks a recent run but has the ground in his favour, is a course-and-distance winner and should appreciate coming back down in trip from a little further than ideal last time.

This looks a weak race and he might still be on a workable mark.

Philip Rothwell won this last year and has a chance again this time with Ricky Langford, who won’t be found wanting for fitness, handles decent ground and is probably back at his best trip.

If the market suggested that Single Edition was sharp enough on his return from 155 days off, he’d have to be strongly considered.
