THERE was great excitement at Comea point-to-point in Kilfeacle, Co Tipperary, last Sunday, when the racecourse commentator revealed the winning rider in the older geldings’ maiden was David Russell.
Could it be true? Had Davy given up the dancing and made another comeback in the saddle?
Turns out we have a new D. Russell in the riding ranks and this was his first winner. David is 20 years of age, from Tipperary town and works for Enda Bolger.
Meanwhile, the original Davy Russell has silenced the doubters (including Parrot Mouth) by avoiding early elimination in RTÉ’s Dancing with the Stars.
Displaying his trademark determination, Davy has quick-stepped his way into the final seven and he is now being talked about as a potential winner. Hopefully the judges won’t ask our hero to go for a cup of tea for another wee while.
