CALLING all budding racing commentators. Here’s your chance to visit the Curragh Racecourse commentary box on a raceday.

To mark the 30th anniversary of the establishment of Barretstown – the Ballymore Eustace holiday camp for sick children – the charity has teamed up with the Curragh Racecourse to give a special opportunity to one young racing fan.

Parents of would-be race callers are invited to send an engaging audio recording and or video of their child commentating the finish of a race to serious.fun@barretstown.ie by noon next Wednesday, June 26th. The winner and runners-up will be contacted the next day by email.

The winner will visit Jerry Hannon in the commentary box next Sunday, Irish Derby day.

This amazing prize will also include a family VIP pass to the Dubai Duty Free Irish Derby, a VIP package including a picnic hamper and even participation in the guard of honour for the big race, where the lucky winner will ring the bell for jockeys to mount in advance of one of the races.
