IT wasn’t just the Irish Grand National first prize that stayed in Co Meath last weekend.
Local woman Lisa Walsh also defeated all-comers to win the best dressed competition at Fairyhouse on Saturday. The event was sponsored by Lyrath Estate and there were €3,000 worth of prizes to be won.
Lisa, an accountant, borrowed the dress from a friend but spent a fortune on her shoes.
“My shoes are Jimmy Choo,” she said. “They were my investment piece, and I am absolutely obsessed with them. I love them.
“They were over €800 in Brown Thomas and I waited until the sale. I kept saying if they go on sale and they have my size, it’s a sign, so I bought them for €450. They’ll be in the wardrobe forever.”
Lisa’s headpiece was created by Fiona Rafter Millinery just two days before the racemeeting.
