NEXT week, Naas is the centre of the known world and local traders won’t be hiding form that. Into Kildare, the tourism board for Co Kildare, has launched the Paint The Town Red campaign, a best dressed window and building competition to promote and support businesses in Naas before and during the Punchestown Festival. And you’ve guessed it, the windows will be decked out with a racing inspired theme.

Prizes

The hardworking business owners won’t go unrewarded because, as well as encouraging more trade, the premises with the best window will win a two-night stay at the Killashee Hotel for two people. The prize includes dinner on one evening with afternoon tea, gift vouchers for Kildare Village, tickets for a Castletown House concert and the runner-up will receive hospitality for six at Punchestown.

All entrants in the Paint The Town Red competition will be given a pair of complimentary tickets for next Tuesday. Over 20% of Punchestown racegoers come from overseas so it’s the perfect time to showcase Naas.
