Listening to these protestors really is cringe worthy, they really haven’t got a clue what they are on about. They are after their 5 minutes of fame and are getting it. The horses love racing and get treated like royalty at their stables.

I just wish these protesters would give the same energy to horses that are seen up and down the country starved and neglected, left in fields and sheds with no access to fresh water, quality food, and veterinary care

For context I worked with this horse everyday and he was the most well mannered animal you’d wish to meet. Those protestors directly caused his death, he was a class jumper and a professional at the races, he loved his job.

Racing must be on the front foot with the way we promote welfare. You cannot reason with people who have no understanding of the horse, ignore facts and are blinded by emotion. Be proactive not reactive. You cannot win if you are led by their narrative.

Why do animal activists feel that animals should do nothing? in the wild they work hard to survive... every being has to work, it is integral to existence. racehorses, like us, have a job. One they are so very well suited to... and enjoy. All jobs... all life... has risks.

At what point does the National become such an existential threat to the sport per se that the powerful interests within flat racing start lobbying for its sacrifice?
