This widely held opinion (in some respects not unreasonable) is a big problem for racing. Of course you can’t remain responsible for a horse for life but racing must do better to insure that the first home out of racing is well vetted and appropriate.

What annoys me about people getting on their high horse about saying trainers need to vet all new owners is the fact horses are sold every day at public auction with no vetting of people bidding & no idea where they may end up. Do people want the sales stopped?
