It’s no different to VAR in football (pain in the arse, slows down process and enjoyment of winning!) but you can go through your standard checks on winner to determine if anything amiss. If you create a whip rule check if they have an exceeded, job done! It’s really not hard!

I really do dread to think what would happen if we had this type of fiasco affecting the first past the post in the Grand National. DQ’ing the winner of that race on the day would be pretty much the worst imaginable outcome for British horse racing
Mr Jim McGrath@McGracing
Potty, that within mins of last Sat’s Ces, most pros knew winner was likely to be dq.Yet the charade of a presentation went ahead - why? If jocks are supposed to count on the day, why can’t one of the stewards’ team do the same? After all we’re repeatedly told how easy it is!

Ten smacks is deemed a welfare issue. But the five given on Manxman is deemed fine. Five cracks is supposedly the difference between right and wrong. It’s clear as day that ‘image’ is the issue, not welfare.
The ‘image’ only to appease the anti-racing brigade. They want it gone They want it gone full stop, then that’s a step closer to the game going as a whole. They’ve dug themselves into a terrible hole.
