KILLARNEY Racecourse is set to host JulyFest, an exciting five-day summer horseracing festival, from Monday, July 17th to Friday 21st inclusive. JulyFest offers great racing, socialising, entertainment and so much more at Ireland’s most scenic racecourse.

For many patrons the most competitive event of the week will take place off the track on Friday, in the form of The Lee Strand Best Dressed fashion event! Ten lucky ladies and gentlemen will be selected by the judges, each taking home a prize for their efforts.

They will battle it out for the chance to be crowned the best dressed, and take home the covetable prizes of a VIP trip for two to Paris and Milan.

This year’s celebrity judges are Kerry’s own son, and digital content creator Tadhg Fleming, and the 2021 Miss Ireland, Pamela Uba. The judges will be out and about the track from early doors to find this year’s The Lee Strand Best Dressed winner!

Delighted

Tadhg Fleming commented: “I’m absolutely delighted and excited to be part of this year’s Killarney Races. Being a Kerry man, I am honoured to be this year’s judge with my fellow Hellweek recruit Pamela.

“We will be keeping an eye out for the most stylish and head-turning outfits on the day; and, may I add, I am a fan of outrageous and funky designs.”

Pamela Uba, the former Miss Ireland, added: “I am super excited to be judging at the Killarney races this year. It’s such a day of fashion and style and, having won the best dressed lady at Galway races previously, I totally understand the effort that goes into it. I will be looking out for something fun and chic, that shows your personality and is unique. I can’t wait to see all the glam.”

Welcome

Killarney Races welcomes major bookmaker William Hill to its sponsorship list, supporting nine races in total over the first two days of flat racing, with their main feature race being the William Hill Extra Place Races Daily Handicap of €16,500.

In addition, racegoers will have the opportunity to meet some of the Tralee Roses and their escorts.

Racing switches codes on Thursday, and TG4 will be broadcasting live from Ireland’s most scenic racecourse for the first time. Thursday’s card includes the Irish Stallion Farms EBF Mares Hurdle of €18,500. There will be memorial races in honour of the late Ivo O’Sullivan and James Collins.
