THE August Racing Festival at Tramore is a highlight for many on the sport, social and fashion calendars in the sunny south-east. The festival takes place from Thursday next, August 17th to Sunday 20th inclusive.
The highly-anticipated best dressed event is back with a bang this year on Saturday, August 19th, August with superb prizes from Lyrath Estate. The Tramore August Festival welomes visitors from near and far, returning each year to enjoy great racing and a warm holiday atmosphere. Attendances at the seaside track are going from strength to strength, and last year’s festival attracting 20,000 visitors.
The four-day festival consists of three National Hunt days, and one all flat card, and you will find all of Ireland’s top jockeys riding at the track. Improve
Always looking to improve facilities at the racecourse, the team at Tramore has just completed a new €250,000 stable yard development, which includes 24 stables, wash bays and a trot-up area. In addition to continuous improvements in the stable yard for horses, trainers and grooms, the wellbeing of jockeys is very important to the team at Tramore. The racecourse, in association with the Irish Injured Jockeys (IIJ) will offer full physiotherapy facilities during the festival for all riders.
Owners are very well catered for at the racecourse, with a private dining room for those with a runner on the day, offering a complimentary meal with wine for the owners and their guests.
The August Festival offers great corporate hospitality options over the four days, as well as a street food village for more casual offerings. One of the most popular food and beverage additions in recent years is the famous Dooly’s Fish & Chip Shop. It is the first purpose-built fish and chip shop on an Irish racecourse and has proven extremely popular with racegoers as it embraces the full seaside racetrack experience at Tramore.
Responding to the demand for more of a casual package for racegoers to enjoy, the Punter Pack is a perfect choice. For groups of five or more, a Punter Pack is €39 per person, and includes admission, a race card, a food voucher redeemable at any of the casual food outlets onsite, and a €6 drinks voucher.
