iCatcher - Tahmuras
MY eye-catcher of the week won’t be getting involved at Cheltenham, but is showing signs of getting back on track after a disappointing end to last season, and he could yet get involved at one of the other big Festivals, writes Page Fuller.
Tahmuras had proved disappointing since winning the Tolworth Hurdle last year, but has turned things around since stepping up to two and a half miles and being fitted with cheekpieces.
He was only beaten three-quarters of a length in the Pendil Novices’ Chase at Sandown on Saturday and looked to me like he could improve.
Turning in, Blow Your Wad quickened the pace up and put Tahmuras under pressure - this is backed up by the sectionals, as they recorded 12.78secs and 12.99secs furlongs respectively. Tahmuras then records a time of 54.64secs for his final four furlongs, 0.26secs quicker than Blow Your Wad, but it isn’t enough to claw him back.
His jumping was very good too, gaining +10.19 LGJ and he’s one to pop in your tracker in the hope that he is granted a stiffer test of stamina.
