FRANK O’Donnell, former permit-holder and racehorse owner, has died. He was in his 80s.
Originally from Limerick, he lived in Kilternan, Co Dublin, and was a former Master of the Bray Harriers. He was a keen huntsman all of his life, continuing to appear on the hunting field into his eighth decade.
Frank rode as an amateur on both the track and in point-to-points.
In more recent years he has had horses in training with Liz Doyle.
His son Martin has recently completed his tenure as chairman of the Irish Horseracing Regulatory Board and Senior Steward of the Irish National Hunt Steeplechase Committee.
