Lopes Gold can build on a pleasing debut second to Freedom Of Speech at Naas three weeks ago. On that occasion the daughter of Lope De Vega was beaten by the more experienced Freedom Of Speech and the form of that race has already received a boost with the third-placed Pinar Del Rio going on to win a Curragh maiden last weekend.
She could have much to fear from the Ballydoyle newcomer Prettiest who is a daughter of Dubawi and the top-class Alice Springs who was Group 1-placed at two before notching up three wins at the highest level the following season.
Agartha is also respected as she looks to build on an encouraging debut third to She’s Trouble last weekend.
SELECTION: LOPES GOLD
Next best: Prettiest
1.45 Lynn Lodge Stud Irish EBF Maiden 5f
A race that contains a few notable newcomers but Albion Square might get off the mark at the third attempt. He was well beaten on his debut but showed good progress from that run to finish a close second to The Entertainer over a slightly longer trip at this track a couple of weeks ago. The shorter trip of this race won’t be a problem for him.
Admiraloftheblue is the sole Ballydoyle representative. He is a son of No Nay Never out of a half-sister to the very useful Johann Zoffany who won at Group 2 level in Australia. He appeals as a likely contender.
Laakhof is interesting as a Profitable half-brother to a couple of juvenile winners and he holds an entry in next month’s Railway Stakes.
SELECTION: ALBION SQUARE

Celtic Manor might be able to record his first victory since coming to Ireland. His last success in Britain came off a stone higher mark and he has shown this season that he can add to his tally. His most recent third to Mi Esperanza is a very solid effort and he may not need to improve too much on that.
Conversant is another high drawn runner with a big chance. The ground will not be as testing as when he won over this course and distance two months ago but that isn’t a major concern as it should still be sufficiently slow to allow him to run up to his best. He has just a 4lb higher mark to contend with.
Stanhope is starting to look well treated and is 18lb lower than when winning over this course and distance last summer.
SELECTION: CELTIC MANOR
Next best: Conversant

This looks a good opportunity for Malawi to build on his debut second at Dundalk where he finished a two-and-a-half-length second to Baron Zee. He is sure to improve for that initial outing and first time cheek pieces might also help.
He is related to a number of horses who stayed very well and his sister, Sizzling, won at Group 3 level over a mile and a half and also landed a listed race over one mile and six furlongs. Joseph O’Brien fields a couple of newcomers and these include Point Nepean who is a son of Camelot and is out of a half-sister to Steinbeck who won at Group 3 level over a mile for Aidan O’Brien before later striking at Group 1 level in New Zealand.
SELECTION: MALAWI
Next best: Point Nepean

Charterhouse boasts the highest rating in the field by some distance and is a tentative choice with the concern being the trip as he has yet to venture beyond seven furlongs. He had to settle for eighth on his comeback at Leopardstown last month but that came in a good edition of the track’s 2000 Guineas trial which was won by the subsequent classic winner Poetic Flare. Last season he showed up quite well in the Tyros Stakes and the National Stakes and he was also a stylish winner of a Curragh maiden.
He might have most to fear from Laelaps who is a course and distance winner. The latter’s third to Khartoum at Naas a couple of weeks ago reads well with the runner-up, Visualisation, having won a premier handicap at the Curragh on his next start.
Rebel Step’s penultimate run in a decent handicap gives him a chance and he should enjoy dropping down in class after contesting last weekend’s Irish 2000 Guineas.
SELECTION: CHARTERHOUSE
Next best: Laelaps

A hopeful vote goes to Snowy Owl who has progressed with each run this season.
He won a Killarney maiden over a mile last August and has shown signs of coming back to form lately. His sixth to Fourhometwo in a good handicap at Naas last month was a respectable run and he did better again over 1m 4f at Leopardstown last time when he finished well to get to within half length of Sir William Bruce.
The drop back in trip shouldn’t be a major issue for him and he can deal with Bear Story who won a Dundalk maiden over a mile in December and returned to the fray with a very pleasing second to Sir Lamorak at Leopardstown last month. He was beaten just under four lengths that day but that can still be rated a good effort against a colt who looks stakes class.
Earl Of Tyrone would have a good chance on his first two runs this season and is better than he showed last time.
SELECTION: SNOWY OWL
Next best: Bear Story

Adelisa can build on a promising display at Gowran Park early last month when she was second to Create Belief. She does have to step-up in trip from a mile but there is plenty of encouragement from her pedigree with regard to this longer distance. The form of her Gowran Park run reads well as Create Belief won a good handicap at the Curragh last weekend and just behind her at Gowran Park was the highly progressive Pale Iris and the fourth-placed Powerful Aggie also won next time.
She is chosen ahead of Sunniyra who ran a solid race to finish sixth in a useful looking Leopardstown maiden a few weeks ago having shaped like a future maiden winner when third to Queens Speech in a Curragh maiden last November. Venice Biennale is quite interesting following quite a promising debut fourth behind Wild Dollar in a 1m 2f Curragh maiden last weekend.
SELECTION: ADELISA

He hasn’t won for almost three years but Dance Emperor appeals as being able to play a leading role. Peter Fahey’s charge does have a tendency to start slowly which can compromise his chance but at a track like this that may not be such a major issue.
He has shaped up well on both his starts this season with his latest third to Angel’s Trumpet at Killarney suggesting he can make his mark at this level.
On that Killarney run he does have three quarters of a length to find with Legal Thriller but he is now 4lb better off with that opponent and the longer trip might also work in his favour.
SELECTION: DANCE EMPEROR
