New sponsor for Tramore feature

TRAMORE Racecourse has signed a three-year deal with O’Driscoll’s Irish Whiskey, new sponsor of Tramore’s Grade 3 New Year’s Day Chase. Dual Gold Cup winner Al Boum Photo won the race four years in a row and this year it was won by former Gold Cup winner Minella Indo.

HORSE keepers are reminded of their responsibility to file a return for the Department of Agriculture’s Equine Census this weekend. Completing the Equine Census is mandatory and failure to return a census may prevent horse owners from registering foals, exporting and selling horses. Further information is carried on page 92.

FOLLOWING the cancellation of last Sunday’s Cork meeting, Horse Racing Ireland has sanctioned a replacement meeting at Cork on Friday, December 13th.

IHWT online auction starts on Sunday

THE Irish Horse Welfare Trust’s online fundraising auction will go live on Sunday at noon and close at midnight on December 10th. Items on offer include art, hampers, books, experiences, vouchers of all kinds, plus racing tickets, annual badges and stable tours.
