THOROUGHBRED Remedies Manufacturing [TRM] will continue to produce equine feed supplements and healthcare products at its state-of-the-art facility in Newbridge, Co Kildare, following the sale of the company to Belgium’s Equine Care Group.
Established in 1989, TRM distributes to customers in more than 70 countries. A significant sponsor in Irish racing and equestrian sport, the company has a long list of well-known “brand ambassadors” including show jumpers Cian O’Connor and Greg Broderick.
Equine Care Group [ECG], new owner of TRM, was created in 2021 by private equity firm Bencis Capital Partners and vets Tom Mariën and Frederik Bruyninx, who is vet to the Belgian show jumping team. Mariën is also the founder and CEO of Equitom. He is an internationally-renowned veterinary surgeon and counts some of the world’s top show jumpers among his clients.
“The specialists within ECG will work closely together with the R&D department of TRM to develop new innovative products which can support the horse’s health,” a statement from ECG said.
Although TRM has not issued a press release on the sale of the company, The Irish Field understands that production at its 7,300 square metres Newbridge plant will not be affected.
