THERE was a notable drop in Irish entries for the 2025 Randox Grand National, when entries were revealed this week, yet ‘Team Green’ still account for over half of the 90 entered.

Gordon Elliott has the most entries of any trainer at 16, followed by Willie Mullins with 10, but that marks 10 less than Elliott entered last year, and three less for the champion trainer.

Gavin Cromwell has entered eight in the Aintree showpiece he has yet to win, double the number entered by 2021’s winning trainer Henry de Bromhead.

Joseph O’Brien, Mouse Morris and Tom Gibney follow with two each, while Patrick Griffin (Roi Mage), Tara Lee Cogan (Hewick), Martin Brassil (Desertmore House) and Noel Meade (Pinkerton) each have a single entry in the £1 million contest.

Along with two others, Gigginstown House Stud and J.P. McManus share the title of winning-most owner in the race, with three victories each. Gigginstown have four entered in the 2025 renewal, while McManus boasts nine.

The McManus-owned I Am Maximus and Limerick Lace were sent off joint-favourites last year, the former obliging, while the mare finished 10th. I Am Maximus was pulled up on his seasonal reappearance, but has been quoted as 10/1 favourite to retain his crown by most bookmakers.

Iroko, who produced an eye-catching performance in the yellow-and-green hoops last week, is now 14/1 for Oliver Greeenall and Josh Guerreiro. Thyestes Chase victor Nick Rockett shares third spot in the betting with Irish National hero Intense Raffles at 16/1.
