PLENTY of familiar names from the worlds of racing, breeding and gambling appeared in the list of Ireland’s wealthiest 300 people, published by the Sunday Independent last weekend.

Here we reproduce those entries often spotted on the racecourse or in the racing pages. The newspaper’s estimates of each person’s wealth could be described as informed guesswork, given that there is no way of confirming what investments or debts these private individuals have.
