King’s Theatre - Masriyna’s Article

V. Byrne

He is in the two-and-a-half-mile chase on Sunday and the Kerry National on Wednesday and I’d love to run him in the National – it all comes down to the ground. We’ll make a call closer to the time. He loves good ground and Sunday’s race looks very good on paper but at the minute, I am more leaning towards the National.

I’d say the flat track down there will suit him and he seems to be in great form. He’ll have plenty of weight in the National, so I hope it’s a pretty condensed handicap and hopefully he won’t have to give away too much weight. He has been a star of a horse for us and he owes us nothing.

He’ll head down once he gets a bit of nice ground. His work at home suggests that he should be capable of running a very big race.

He is a nice horse and we’ll start him off in the bumper on Sunday. He’d like a bit of nice ground and his work suggests that he should run a good race. He has a nice bit done and ours always improve for their first run. We’ll see what the race looks like, but assuming the ground remains reasonable, he should run well.

He has an entry in a novice hurdle on Wednesday and assuming the ground will be okay for him he’ll go there. We are keen to make up for lost time as he was out of action for so long. He has come out of Kilbeggan in very good form and this would look a nice slot for him. We’ll keep an eye on the ground for him, but the plan is to run.

He has the option of running on Sunday in the two-and-a-half-mile race or the National on Wednesday. He has done very well for us and he has been a great servant for everyone connected to him. He has won his last two and the conditions of Sunday’s race appear to suit him. We’ll have a look at the National as well, but he’ll go for one of them and more than likely he’ll run on Sunday.

He is a grand horse for those good conditions chases and he really enjoyed himself at Galway – he is in very good form.

He hasn’t run since March when he won at Cheltenham, but he tends to go well fresh.

He’ll have a lot of weight and it will be a very big ask for him, but we’ve had this race in mind for him since he was second in this last year.

If things go his way, he should give a good give a very account of himself.

If he gets in, he is likely to run in the National too. He ran no race at all in the Galway Plate. He was on the back foot from the start and never had an opportunity to show what he can do at Galway.

Before that he ran very well in the Midlands National and he has won around Aintree – on his day he has enough class to get competitive. He’ll need things to fall right for him but if they did, I wouldn’t be surprised if he got into the shake-up.

She will have her first run back in the Lartigue on Monday. She had a good run last seen when second in the Adonis at Kempton and I’ve been happy with her and I am keen to get her back started.

She seems to be in good form, and this looks a very competitive renewal, but it’s a lovely race to start her back in. I am hoping that she can progress for the run.

He’ll go for a novice chase during the week. He developed into a promising horse for us over hurdles and hopefully he can run to the same level over fences.

We gave him a chance after Galway as he had two quick runs there, but he appears to jump fences well and I am looking forward to getting him going over them next week.

He is a nice horse who we bought at the Arc sale in France last year. He has settled in well and I am looking forward to going jumping with him but he’ll go for the amateur race at Listowel on Friday.

We’ll see how that goes and we might look at something else for him on the flat, but he was bought to go jumping and he’ll go over hurdles reasonably soon.

She must have a right chance in the mares’ chase on Wednesday. There is a small entry for it but it looks a good race. She is in terrific form and I couldn’t be happier with her. We gave her a break after the last day and the better the ground, the better she’ll run. In fact, all the horses that I run there next week all want good ground.

This mare doesn’t know how to run a bad run and she jumps great. The lads that own her have knocked great sport out of her and I think it’s brilliant that a few owners are allowed back next week and these lads love going racing, so that’s a real bonus. We’ll have to see what is declared but she is in super form and she goes there a real contender.

I think the good ground will be a big help to him and he has been running well without winning and he deserves a change of luck. The good ground and the two miles down there will suit him, and I think he’ll run a big race. I’ve had this race in mind for him for a while, so with a bit of luck, he’ll get into the shakeup.

He has won twice for me this season and he’ll go for a two-and-a-half-mile handicap hurdle on Monday. He loves good ground and I think he’ll appreciate the track and good ground is a plus to him.

In saying that, he will handle soft ground as well, but I wouldn’t be sure that he’ll get two and a half miles on slow ground. He is a good honest handicapper who rarely runs a bad race and I’m hopeful that he’ll run a big race for us on Monday.

He is in the Lartigue but he’ll need rain to arrive and if he missed that, he’ll go for the two-and-a-half-mile handicap hurdle on Saturday. He got a big hike in the weights for winning by 13 lengths at Punchestown so it remains to be seen how he will operate off his new mark.

He got very excited before at Tramore, but he got a super ride from Mikey Fogarty last week at Punchestown and he is what I would call an adequate handicapper. When he settles, he is a fair horse and he has done very good work at home, but then he ran very free at Tramore. So it was nice to see him do what we thought he was capable of at Punchestown and if the rain happened to arrive over the weekend, there is a chance that he’ll go for the Lartigue.

She has been disappointing, as we were sure after her first run of the season behind Jerandme, that she would have won her chase before now. She has regressed since, but the plan is that she’ll go for the beginners’ chase on Monday.

If she could reproduce her earlier form, she’ll have a big chance but we’ll just have to see now if she can go out and do that.

The plan is that he’ll go for the National on Wednesday and he seems to be in very good form. I think we can draw a line through his run in the Galway Plate. He never got into the race that day – he made a bad mistake early on and he was never happy, but his runs before that were good.

Hopefully, he’ll give a good account of himself. There is rain forecast next week and he’d appreciate that, as he wouldn’t want the ground too good.

He seems to be in really good form, and he has some really good form last season and he ran a super race when fourth in the Kim Muir at Cheltenham in March.

I think the track will suit him and he is another that will appreciate some nice ground. He has a lovely racing weight and we are looking forward to running him.
