1.15 Welcome To The Racing Home For Easter Festival 2024 Fillies Maiden 7f

National Lady can get off the mark. The Magna Grecia filly finished third in both starts last term, including a solid run behind recent Group 3 Park Express Stakes winner Brilliant at Leopardstown. She can put her experience and proven class to good use.

Lavender Haze ran well on seasonal reappearance at Naas last week and could play a hand if not fazed by the quick reappearance. She looks to have progressed plenty over the winter and that was evident when fourth over a mile last Sunday. She seemed to weaken late on so the step back to seven furlongs looks the right call.

This is all about One Look. Paddy Twomey’s filly was a spectacular winner of the Goffs Million at the Curragh last September on debut, putting the race to bed with a scintillating turn of foot to run away with the huge prize by six lengths. She looks streets ahead of these rivals and this should be a straightforward task on seasonal debut.

Action Plan can fill the forecast. He ran well when runner-up in a nursery for Karl Burke at the back end of last season and he should come on for his yard debut at Dundalk 22 days ago.

Last September’s Curragh nursery in which Promo Queen beat Uncle Albert looks the main form guide in this handicap. There was only a short neck between the pair that day, but a 5lb swing in the weights may prove the difference this time around, and Uncle Albert can turn the tables.

Kieran Cotter’s gelding found his level in nursery company last term, and it looked like he was going to land that Curragh contest before edging right late on and getting collared at the line. He relishes soft conditions so should be at home on today’s ground.

Promo Queen is the obvious alternative. She was outclassed in listed company at Dundalk when last seen and is a big player now back in these calmer waters.

SELECTION: UNCLE ALBERT

Ramiro ran well on seasonal reappearance at Naas last Sunday and can land this off an unchanged mark. Hilary McLoughlin’s gelding has five wins on his CV for a couple of yards, including three on heavy ground, and last Sunday’s second behind the well treated Janoobi should leave him spot on for this.

Scholarship is interesting on his Irish debut. He was a dual winner for Clive Cox, including off a mark of 86 at Newbury last April, and was second when last seen at that venue in September off a mark of 84. That mark has remained unchanged for this assignment.

SELECTION: RAMIRO

A good turnout for the feature which can go to You Send Me. The Starspangledbanner filly was last seen since finishing sixth in the Irish 1000 Guineas behind Tahiyra which is the highlight of her generally smart form. She bolted up in her maiden at this venue before finishing second in a Group 3 at Leopardstown, and the long layoff is unlikely to pose any problems given how smart she looked on seasonal debut last term. She’s well treated at the weights so has a fair chance to continue her trainer’s good start to the season.

Yosemite Valley is second choice. Donnacha O’Brien’s colt ran a cracker behind Big Gossey in a conditions race at the Curragh in November, which looked a tough ask at the weights. That was arguably his best performance, and he looks a big player if able to progress again.

SELECTION: YOU SEND ME

Another maiden where the Amo Racing, Adrian Murray and David Egan combination seem to hold a strong hand, this time with Amazonian Warrior. By Blue Point, he cost €165,000 as a yearling and his dam is a half-sister to some useful winners. Connections have shown they are more than capable of readying a new one and he can continue that record.

The same connections are also represented by Political Power, but perhaps Monotone is a better alternative. He was third in the first maiden of the season at the Curragh behind a stablemate of the selection, giving the impression there should be more to come.

SELECTION: AMAZONIAN WARRIOR

Stag Night was a good second at the Curragh on seasonal reappearance 12 days ago and he can get back to winning ways. He’s quite lightly raced for a six-year-old, with just the 10 starts, but he’s already a three-time winner and he relishes these conditions.

Willie McCreery has also booked 10lb claimer Danny Power for the ride, which should compensate somewhat for his hefty weight.

Goal Exceeded is interesting on handicap debut. The John O’Donoghue-trained son of Iffraaj progressed in each of his three runs last season, capped off with victory at Naas in October, where he had the subsequently very impressive Take Me To Church in second.

SELECTION: STAG NIGHT

A drop in class should suit Sturlasson. He was runner-up in two maidens last term, including one over course and distance, while the other was behind Railway Stakes winner Bucarno Fuerte. Both those runs came on soft to heavy ground, so today’s conditions look fine.

Shandy ran well on her debut at the Curragh in October when third behind the smart Samuel Colt and she should make her presence felt. She maybe didn’t see out six furlongs that day, so the drop back to five here should suit.

SELECTION: STURLASSON
