1.45 Trainor Stone And Tile Irish EBF Maiden 7f

There was a lot to like about what Delacroix produced on debut when runner-up at Leopardstown last month, showing signs of greenness in second behind the well-regarded Green Impact. With a natural improvement, the beautifully-bred colt - by Dubawi and out of star North American turf miler Tepin - ought to be tough to beat for Aidan O’Brien and Ryan Moore.

Dante’s Lad stayed on nicely when third in a barrier trial for Joseph O’Brien so needs respecting, though sporting a tongue-tie here doesn’t look a positive and Dylan Browne McMonagle, who rode him in that barrier trial, partners stablemate Hostility now.

That latter-named No Nay Never colt was a 430,000gns yearling so is well worth a check in the market. Storm Piece is another potentially dangerous newcomer for Ger Lyons.

Lunigiana deserves a change of luck and the experience of her first two runs should stand to her here. Willie McCreery’s smartly-bred Mehmas filly bumped into Phoenix Stakes hope Babouche on debut before being only beaten half a length in third at Naas in a five-furlong maiden five weeks ago. Reverting to six furlongs should be in her favour.

Joseph O’Brien’s Blue Point newcomer Source Code is of interest on paper, given he’s a half-brother to Derby second Ambiente Friendly, while Ides Of March has an obvious chance after two decent runs, and now that he drops back in trip after looking a non-stayer at seven furlong last time.

2.50 ARC American Racing Channel Irish EBF Fillies Juvenile Race 7f

A race that often produces quality types, and Ballet Slippers certainly has the pedigree to do just that as a filly by Dubawi and out of the prolific Magical. Her debut third here behind Red Letter was a pleasing effort considering Aidan O’Brien suggested she was just ready to start on that occasion.

Eight of the other nine runners are newcomers, so an element of guesswork is involved. Falling Snow, by Justify and out of classic heroine Winter, ran out a ready winner of a barrier trial for Donnacha O’Brien at Dundalk a month ago. Jaliyah is another nicely-bred newcomer worth keeping an eye on too.

Moss Tucker sets the standard on ratings as he bids for back-to-back wins in the race but he would probably prefer more of an ease in the ground than we might get this weekend. Shartash could be the way into the race, as he bids to continue a fine season since gelded for Archie Watson. He’s already proven his effectiveness over this course and distance when trained by Johnny Murtagh.

Electric Storm finished just in front of him last time when the pair finished second and third behind Shouldvebeenaring in a Deauville Group 3, but there is little to separate them and the handicapper still has the selection 10lb in front of that rival. Kind Of Blue, fourth in the Commonwealth Cup and third in the Hackwood Stakes, is a talented three-year-old well worth his place in the line-up.

SELECTION: SHARTASH

4.00 Holden Plant Rentals Handicap 5f

A 5lb rise might not be enough to stop Little Queenie if returning to action in the same determined mood as last time at Dundalk. She’s been steadily improving and a stiff five furlongs might be just her cup of tea (won this race last year when off a much lower mark). She hails from a stable having a terrific campaign.

Martin Hassett notched his first flat winner of the season earlier this week and Harry’s Hill should deliver another bold bid at a track where two of his last four wins have come. So Majestic, Greek Flower and Dontspoilasale are all live challengers in their own right.

SELECTION: LITTLE QUEENIE

5.10 Sheehy Motors CUPRA Handicap 6f

Secret Magician had been coming down the handicap when winning over seven furlongs at Naas on Monday, and a 5lb higher mark now still looks workable on the basis of his old form. He’s down in trip but had some early pace last time and won this race off a 5lb higher mark last year, so he can operate well in this type of setting. Another 5lb rise for winning last time at Down Royal hasn’t done any favours to Keke, but he’s clearly in excellent form and should be firmly in the mix again in his hat-trick bid. Lucky Out took advantage of a good opportunity at the Galway Festival when winning well and showed enough pace to suggest coming back to this trip is worth trying.

SELECTION: SECRET MAGICIAN

5.40 La Celia Wines Handicap 1m

A difficult handicap to end proceedings and several hold legitimate claims. Global Energy gets a tentative nod for Sheila Lavery, having been in excellent form this season and shown he’s a versatile sort in terms of ground who loves the mile test at the Curragh.

Genuine Article gets cheekpieces added after trading at close to 1/7 in running last time at Galway when second to Grey Leader. James Ryan’s 5lb claim offsets the fact he’s been raised 5lb by the handicapper, and he has the ability to win off his rating if able to follow through.
