The locally-trained She Can Do It can register a first career success for Liam Lennon. Runner-up on her previous two visits here, the filly has vital experience of this unique track. Alex Harvey, who rode a double at Sligo earlier in the week, is excellent value for the additional 7lb off her back. French flat winner Born In Purple is a danger for Willie Mullins. The champion trainer has an excellent record at this venue, so anything that he sends north is worth a second look.

A staying-on second at Galway last time, the Gordon Elliott-trained Mordor should be suited to this stiff test. The Roaring Lion gelding looked all stamina when coming with a strong late run to win over a mile and six furlongs on the flat at Killarney on his previous start. The four-year-old should very much appreciate the uphill climb to the finish. Course-and-distance winner Dollar Value ran a remarkable race when winning easily at Sligo on Thursday evening. Left at the start, he recovered to win by 16 lengths.

Pride Of Hawridge looks another locally-trained horse capable of going close. A three-time winner on the flat in Britain, the gelding made a promising start to his Irish career when mid division over flights at Kilbeggan last month.

Appearing to be well handicapped in that sphere, he holds leading claims. Chancer Dancer catches the eye in first-time cheekpieces. Trained in by Noel Kelly, the mare has yet to win a race but one of her better runs did come at this track last September.

A winner on her last two starts over hurdles, the Cian Collins-trained Steps In The Sand can complete her hat-trick. A proven stayer on the flat, the five-year-old has improved with each step up in trip since switching back to hurdles.

Having won at this track last time, the unique undulations will hold no fears for the in-form mare. Galway flat handicap winner Hidden Land has every chance of finishing her career on a high note. The in-foal Andrew Kinirons-trained mare has previously won at this track.

The Stuart Crawford-trained Step Out looks to have every chance of opening his account over hurdles. Runner-up on two previous visits here, he was in the process of running a big race when falling two out in third. A beaten odds-on favourite at Perth last time, he should be good enough. Intense Approach has a bit to prove from his last three runs. John McConnell’s gelding hasn’t been the most fluent of jumpers but has the engine.

Third over course and distance last month, the John McConnell-trained Meadow Soprano can register a first win over hurdles. Twice a winner on the flat, she has progressed steadily since joining current connections. Stumblin In looks open to improvement. Pat Doyle’s mare was having just her fifth start over jumps when finishing third at Wexford recently.

It must be significant that connections have opted to keep Felix Summus in training despite being off the track since May 2022. Willie Mullins has few equals when it comes to bringing a horse back from an absence, so it would be no surprise to see the Rule Of Law gelding take a hand in the finish. Dramatic License shaped with promise when third at Roscommon in June. The Stuart Crawford trained gelding is unexposed.
