12.25 Eden Capital 3-Y-O Maiden Hurdle 2m
Champion Green disappointed on his hurdling debut at Cork last month but deserves another chance now.
The Joseph O’Brien stable were out of form at the time and this horse proved very weak in the betting. Now that his trainer has his string back in rude health, the son of The Gurkha can show his true ability.
Happywifehappylife, a stablemate of the selection, could prove the chief threat. Relatively lightly raced on the flat with just the three starts, she looks open to further improvement now that she tackles hurdles.
SELECTION: CHAMPION GREEN

12.58 Signplus Maiden Hurdle 2m
Perceval Legallois, a Gowran Park bumper winner on his debut last January, can make a successful start over flights. J.P. McManus, has bought the four-year-old since his last outing and it is perhaps significant that he has been kept back to race at the Limerick man’s local track.
A horse of some potential, he can win here before going on to contest bigger prizes this winter.
Henn See looks a live threat on his debut for the Willie Mullins yard. The trainer does exceptionally well with his maiden hurdlers at this festival every year and is sure to have had plenty to choose from for this race.
SELECTION: PERCEVAL LEGALLOIS

1.33 O’Kelly Brothers Demolition Hurdle 2m 4f
Uhtred, who struggled in Grade 1 company either side of a Naas maiden hurdle win, should appreciate this drop in class. A listed bumper winner in his day, he is a very useful horse at his best and can be forgiven his most recent start given the poor form of the O’Brien stable at the time.
The Fame And Glory gelding is well suited by these race conditions, so should be good enough to resume winning ways.
Choice Of Words made a winning hurdling debut at Galway before running below par in listed class on her second start. Even allowing for the jump in class, she is almost certainly better than that form, so has to be considered now.
Martin Brassil has his string in great heart all season and is sure to have had a few lined up for the Christmas period.
SELECTION: UHTRED

2.08 Mr Binman Mares’ Handicap Hurdle 2m 4f
Western Zara, who ran a solid race on her first foray into handicap company at Gowran Park, should be competitive now. The grey mare was noted making steady headway in the later stages of that contest and kept on strongly all the way to the finish.
With that experience under her belt and any fitness issues cast aside, she can make her presence felt in similar company. Capture The Action should be capable of winning shortly, having finished second on her three most recent starts. She did little wrong in any of those races but was unfortunate to bump into some improving types. Aside from the Nolan mare, she has nothing to fear.
SELECTION: WESTERN ZARA

3.15 BRC McMahon Reinforcements Andrew McNamara Memorial Handicap Chase 2m 3f 160y
Arctic Ambition may spoil the script here, as the Robert Tyner trained six-year-old is weighted to get the better of Tramore conqueror, Lessofdnegativity. Making his first start over fences, the gelding stayed on strongly from the rear and may have gone closer but for a mistake two out. Granted a clear round, he looks the one to beat.
Lessofdnegativity would be a hugely popular winner, representing the McNamara family. With this race named in honour of the late Andrew Snr, there would be emotional scenes should the gelding manage to come home in front.
SELECTION: ARCTIC AMBITION

3.50 Woodlands House Hotel Adare Mares’ Flat Race 2m
Cnoc Na Si won’t need to be anything special in order to make a winning racecourse debut. Owned by the Blue Blood Racing Club, she is sure to be well forward for this first outing and doesn’t look to have much to fear from those that have already run. If she is to face a challenge, it is perhaps more likely to come from a fellow debutante.
Callista Lady, a half-sister to three winners could be the dark horse in the race. John Joe Walsh won this race last year and is sure to have had it in mind again 12 months on. Although there has to be a slight worry about his runner having the speed for this 2m test, any rain that falls will aid her chances.
SELECTION: CNOC NA SI
