2.30 Irish EBF Median Sires Series Fillies Maiden 7f
Cyber Attack can build on an encouraging first run at the Curragh last month where she finished fourth to Vernet and was beaten by just under 3l. There should certainly be more to come from her following that outing and, while the placed horses from that race have since been beaten, several of those that finished behind Cyber Attack have since run well and the race has produced a couple of subsequent winners.
She gets the vote ahead of Madly Truly who began her career with a 1l second to Sheyya in a 7f Leopardstown maiden two months ago and holds a number of high-profile entries over the coming weeks.
SELECTION: CYBER ATTACK
Next best: Madly Truly
3.00 Irish Stallion Farms EBF Fillies Maiden 5f 205yds
This could see Basil Martini progress from runner-up efforts on her first two outings. On her more recent start she ran an honourable second to Shelton in the Loder Race at the Curragh, and she started out her career with a 1l second to Coralillo in a 6f maiden at Fairyhouse. The return to this trip shouldn’t present her with any problems.
It is interesting to see Dower House coming back in distance. Both her runs have been over 7f and the more recent of these yielded a 5½l second to Tahiyra in a maiden at Galway. She is out of a very fast mare who has already produced a Group 1-winning sprint juvenile in Clemmie so her pedigree suggests she could cope with a switch to sprinting.
SELECTION: BASIL MARTINI
Next best: Dower House
3.30 Irish EBF Auction Series Maiden 5f 205yds
Bird Of Play ran a fine race on his debut at the Curragh last weekend when he was very slowly into stride and was looking on from last for much of the race before coming home strongly to finish a ½l second to Daamberdiplomat. There is every reason to believe that he can sharpen up a good deal as a result of that outing and that could make him had to beat.
Mount Ruapehu can call on a good deal more experience than the selection and is progressing well with racing. He produced his best effort to date at the Curragh a couple of weeks ago when beaten less than 2l into third by Wave Machine.
A similar effort will see him closely involved.
SELECTION: BIRD OF PLAY
Next best: Mount Ruapehu
4.00 Tally-Ho Stud Irish EBF Ballyhane Stakes (Group 3) 5f 205yds
Ano Syra has climbed 30lb in the ratings over the course of 2022 and could yet do better still. After progressing especially well in handicaps, which culminated in a victory in the Rockingham on Irish Derby weekend, she has since acquitted herself well at stakes level.
Two weeks ago at the Curragh she finished an excellent second to Go Bears Go in the Phoenix Sprint Stakes. A repeat of that effort could well suffice and that run gives her an edge over Sacred Bridge who ran with credit to lie ¾l off the selection in that same Curragh contest.
Adaay To Remember is a smart and reliable type who looks the pick of the English challengers.
SELECTION: ANO SYRA
Next best: Sacred Bridge
4.30 Inns Of Court At Tally-Ho Handicap (47-65) 5f 205yds
Empress Of Bough should be able to play a leading role. After just six runs she is open to more improvement than many of her rivals and she comes here off a series of respectable efforts, the most recent of which yielded a ½l second to Ali Babes at Cork last week.
She is marginally preferred to last week’s Cork winner Hastily who is another lightly raced type and was making just the fifth appearance of her career when scoring over 7f nine days ago. She does have to contend with a 9lbs rise in the weights but should go close once more.
SELECTION: EMPRESS OF BOUGH
Next best: Hastily
5.00 Wesco Electrical 50th Anniversary Race 1m 2f
On her debut at Killarney last month, Goodie Two Shoes ran out an impressive winner of a 1m 3f fillies’ maiden. On that occasion she blew the start and had to steadily work her way into the race but she still won by just under 5l and looked every inch a stakes class filly. She lacks the experience of her rivals but looks the best prospect on show and can see off her stablemate Vega Magnifico.
The latter was somewhat disappointing at Group 3 level last time but was previously a very taking winner of a Navan maiden when he looked a horse who would be able to hold his own at a higher level of competition.
SELECTION: GOODIE TWO SHOES
Next best: Vega Magnifico
5.30 Junior Einsteins Apprentice Handicap 1m 2f
S’All Good Man deserves to win a race and looks to have leading claims although he does have to contend with a drop in distance. He was beaten just a nose by All Class at Limerick on his penultimate start and ran another honourable race when chasing home La Hacienda in a 1m 4f Leopardstown handicap last month. The latter won a premier handicap at Killarney on Thursday evening to put the form of that recent effort in a very positive light.
Alma Libre wasn’t at her best at Galway last time but had put together a series of solid runs before that and was beaten just ½l into second in the Apprentice Derby a couple of months ago. She should run well despite having to shoulder top weight.
SELECTION: S’ALL GOOD MAN
Next best: Alma Libre
