THE Connemara Pony Breeders Society has announced that in deference to colt owners who felt that colt inspection in May would be too late, the society will hold a colt inspection Mullingar Equestrian Centre on Friday, April 1st.
Some colt owners had expressed concern that May inspections could potentially result in the loss of sales, loss of covering fees and increased livery charges.
Application forms for the April inspections can be downloaded from the website www.cpbs.ie or be obtained from the office.
The following day, April 2nd, there will be a day’s show jumping for registered Connemara ponies in the showgrounds at Clifden, Co Galway.
The classes will include mini, midi, maxi and a 1.10m competition and generous sponsorship is being finalised.
The final day of the Spring Festival, Sunday April 3rd, will feature the annual stallion parade takes place.
The parade will include both Class 1 and Class 2 stallions and will give breeders an excellent opportunity to assess potential matings.
