BRINGING the curtain down on the 2015 sales season is a two-day mixed renewal at Goresbridge. Shared between the specialist native breeds and the sport horses, the former fill the action on Thursday while Friday’s renewal of performance stock precedes the regular monthly sale on Saturday. The overall catalogue of 207 is marginally lighter than last year but still offers a number of interesting and commercial entries.

Fully warranted, proven competition horses and hunters stand out in the sport horse sector while the younger divisions offer several well-related prospects and some with promising form.

In the native breed divisions, the entry is varied but again a few carry some attractive bloodlines and current form.

Not for the first time this year, OBOS Quality features at the head the sport horse stallion list with five progeny forward. Also well represented are other favourites Harlequin du Carel (4) and Loughehoe Guy (4) while in the specialist divisions, honours are shared between the Connemara stallions Linsfort Barney (2) and Rathlin Robin (2) and the Irish Draught sires Gold Link (2), Inisfree The Holy Grail (2) and Shenandoah Prince Holly (2).
