BILLED by the Mayo Roscommon Breeders’ Group as ‘a foal sale for the breeders by the breeder’, this enterprising group have assembled another exciting catalogue of almost 60 selected foals with showjumping and eventing potential for their forthcoming sale on Saturday, October 5th at Mullingar Equestrian Centre.
The foals were selected at a number of venues across the country and all foals were linear assessed by a panel of industry experts including Liz Freeman (MRCVS/Traditional Irish Horse Association), Dean Rogan (Show jumping), Joseph O’Brien (Show jumping), Gabriel Tunney (Show jumping), Meryl Connaughton (Eventing), Janet Murray (Eventing).
At the 2018 sale, 36% of all foals sold went to overseas buyers including those from the UK, Belgium and Sweden. This encouraged the group to implement an international marketing campaign which is currently under way. In addition, they appointed Norwegian-based former Roscommon native Patrick Hester as their European and Scandinavian representative, tasked with driving interest in the sale and contract rearing. In this remit, Hester recently attended the FEI World Breeding Championships at Lanaken alongside sales team members Noel Kilroy (chair) and John Murphy (operations).

Damline has also produced Hi Happy Harry (ISH) CCIO4*-S (Steven Smith).
