Under age/round-up

WATCHED keenly by their coach Dag Albert, a large field of juniors contested an extremely competitive EI110 J. Team members enjoyed good outings, but none could better Alannah Kelly who delivered back-to-back wins with her new ride Albert VI. Recently imported from England, Albert recorded one of three double clear rounds, to pip Heather O’Connor with team reserve HSH Has It All, and squad member and dressage leaders Jenny Kuehnle with Polly Blue Eyes. Three failed to complete, all getting stuck at the tricky corner at six.

Brian Kuehnle and Tullibards Sixth Sense and Susan Shanahan (Fernhill Mix and Match) went head to head in the EI110 (P), with the former prevailing.

Meanwhile in the EI100 (J), the unstoppable Ted O’Leary (My Ballintogher Crackjack) racked up a hat-trick of wins, as did Lucie Glynn (Brambleborough Eoghan) who landed the pony division.

As the biggest class of the day, the Equine Warehouse supported EI100 ran with 33 starters. All but four were clear in the country, and while the time proved hard to get for most, it proved no problem for Ciaran Moran, who picked up a pillar to post win with the smart five-year-old Storyteller (by the Selle Français sire Shouppydam des Hortes).

In the final two, EI90 classes Amanda Goldsbury led from the front with Hale Zorro, while in the pony sector Georgina Pettit did the same aboard Ballyerk Black Beauty.
