ANNA Nangle led from the outset to secure the win in the Black Rainbow CCI1*P-S class at the SemaLease Kilguilkey House International riding Liscannor Tulira (CP). Nangle had the best dressage score of 32.1 and, with nothing further to add, retained her lead throughout.
Liscannor Tulira is a 14-year-old gelding by Tulira Robuck, with whom Nangle has had a number of top 10 finishes at EI100P level this season and with whom she won the CCIP2*-L at the same event last year.
In second place was Maya Constable riding Rockon Pedro. Constable was third after dressage on 34 penalties, but a clean sweep in both jumping phases helped her jump up into eventual second. Rockon Pedro is a 13-year-old gelding by Newtown Pedro (CP) on whom Constable has enjoyed great succes this season, including two wins at EI100P level at both Tyrella (4) and Hazeldene (3).
Finishing third was Kirsty Greene riding Our Girl (KL Mac), on whom she won at Grove just a few days prior. Greene scored 39.1 in the dressage phase, which saw her in sixth and, again, it was a clean sweep in the jumping phases that helped her climb up into third place.
Maeve Fleming and Kiltiernan Kitty (CP), a seven-year-old mare also by Tulira Robuck, finished fourth on her dressage score of 40.3 penalties. Again, her final place was thanks to two clear jumping phases.
Avalon Inis Sle (CP) and Robyn Dempsey finished fifth on a total of 40.7. They dropped slightly down in the rankings after incurring four show jumping penalties.
In sixth place was Avril Rea riding Blessington Black Shadow. This pair were second after dressage on 33.8, but an unfortunate two poles down in the show jumping saw them drop down to eventual sixth on a final score of 41.8.
