THE final qualifier for the Bluegrass Garden Eventing series took place last Sunday, where Charlie Hanna and Hazy made their second visit to Lusks EC a happy one by winning the novice pony class, ahead of Ellen Douglas on Tutti Fruitti.

Shannon Carruthers and Mister Darcy finished in third and secure their place at the final.

The very popular amateur class was won by Sarah Irvine on her new horse Harry, who will move on to eventing later on this year. Second place went to Elaine Douglas on Toby. Fiona Magowan and Storm finished in third place.

In the novice horse class James Hammond repeated his performance of the previous event when winning the class again on Miss Millbridge, relegating Johnny Mulligan and the four-year-old Jeremy to second place. Victoria Clarke took her first rosette of the day when finishing third on Diamonds Queen.

With only two entrants in the open pony class, Lucy Savage took the win on Maggie, ahead of Rachel Kerr and Hughie Boss.

Once again Victoria Clarke was the one to beat as she claimed the title in the open horse class on Red Curaco. Leo Pele tried very hard to prevent Clarke from the win but had to settle for second place on Vincent when finishing two seconds adrift. Third place went to Conall McGrath on BLS Linvara.
