DARUSTUD MBF first impressed when winning his EI 100 at Kedrah two weeks ago and did so again when he upgraded to land the competitive CNC* at Kilguilkey .
Owned by Meabh Bolger and ridden by her partner Brian Flynn (MBF Sporthorses), the six-year-old is by Ulatermo (KWPN) out of Darustud Aztec (by Newmarket Venture). A sale topper at Goresbridge as a four-year-old, the gelding moved to England, before the couple jumped at the chance to buy him at the end of last year.
“He’s a proper one,” said Flynn. “Having sat on him, I couldn’t leave him behind.”
The CIC*YH class is the mid-season aim for this smart prospect, who was bred by Angela Holland in Co Laois.
