CATCHING the eye to land third spot in his very first CNC* was the attractive six-year-old Denis Finch Hatton.

Homebred by his owner Edel Nolan in Co Wexford, the well-related son of Ghareeb is the only foal out of the good event mare Liberty Dalton (by Kildalton King).

Produced and ridden by up and coming Co Wexford rider Patrick Whelan, the gelding was successfully introduced to the sport at the close of last year and opened this season to fill the runner up spot in the EI 100 at Rosanna two weeks ago.

The CICYH* at Tattersalls is the early goal for this promising performer, before a tilt at a similar class at Camphire in July.
