MEMBERS of the Association of Irish Riding Clubs who have not yet registered their horses for national competitions or qualifiers are reminded to do so as soon as possible as a charge of €25 will be applied to any application received from April 1st to June 30th.

While the AIRC’s first national fixture of 2025, the Connolly’s Red Mills hunter trials championships at Nuenna Farm, doesn’t take place until Sunday, April 13th, there is still a lot happening at club and regional level throughout the country, from training and lectures to competition.

The Midlands Region is currently running bursary training sessions. Despite the weather, the Drynam Club held the second leg of the North East Region’s EasyWay spring show jumping league at the National Sport Horse Arena last Sunday; the league continues tomorrow at Cloncaw Equestrian.

Disappointingly, the weather got the better of the South East Region, who had to cancel Sunday’s Barrow Valley leg of their dressage league, but it’s due to recommence tomorrow when Coole Lane hosts a leg at Coley Equestrian. In South Leinster too, the weather held sway, but Foxborough have rescheduled the second leg of their inter-club dressage league to tomorrow with the third and final leg taking place at Boswell on Sunday, March 9th.
