HORSE Sport Ireland has confirmed it has closed the Request for Tender (RFT) process for youth eventing and youth show jumping high performance services.
“The submissions are currently under review, and we are progressing through the next steps to ensure the most effective structures are in place,” a spokesperson said.
Separately, the senior programme appointments for Dressage, Para Dressage, and Eventing are nearing conclusion.
“We appreciate that riders and stakeholders are eager for updates, and formal announcements will be made in due course,” the statement went on.
“However, we want to dispel any suggestion that the High Performance programmes are at a standstill. Our internal High Performance team is fully operational, continuing to register FEI athletes, process and complete entries, provide logistical planning for upcoming FEI events and championships, and support athletes in all aspects of their preparation.
“Additionally, expressions of interest for athletes across the high-performance pathways will be launched next week and will be delivered by the HSI High Performance team internally. This will provide athletes with the opportunity to engage with the programme, ensuring alignment with the high-performance structures in place for 2025 and beyond.”
HSI also confirmed that Bernard Jackman remains engaged with HSI, but due to other commitments, he will no longer be committed to the Head of Performance role. He will, however, continue to support the organisation towards Los Angeles 2028 in a different capacity, which will be “announced in due course”.
Meanwhile, Avalon Everett since returning from extended leave, has resumed the role of Head of Sport, as well as Legal and Governance, overseeing the delivery of the High Performance programmes.
