IN what is its 20th year of offering, TEAGASC’s ‘Equine Young Breeder IRE’ training resumes on Saturday, March 1st at Greenogue Equestrian Centre, Dublin, with international eventer Ian Cassells. Ian and his horses were in outstanding form in 2024. From 11am to 3pm, enthusiasts aged 15-30 are invited to meet some of Ian’s impressive horses up close and gain valuable insights into the sport of eventing. Topics include conformation, movement and jumping traits and how they relate to the demands of the sport. Ian can provide his unique perspective, enabling participants to relate what they see from the ground to what he feels in the saddle. Whether a returning participant, or a most welcome newcomer, there is always something to learn in this dynamic environment.
