THE sixth leg of the Jumpinaction.net and Jod -Z Secondary Schools jumping league got underway on January 26th at Killossery Lodge Stud, in testing weather conditions.

The novice individual top spot went to Ruby Lynch and Our Molly from Maynooth Education Campus in a time of 23.43, knocking Chloe Dunne and Cuffstown Princess, representing Mount Sackville, into second position. Following hot on their heels was Alice Manoliu and Miss Ever So Clever to take third place in a close time of 26.47.

Remaining in fourth position was Aine Mullan and Sir Archiebold riding for Enfield Community College School in a time of 27.22. Bobby Branagan and Barna Belle jumped into the placings to secure the fifth place slot for Maynooth Education Campus in 29.75, with Ciara Wall and Jasper Himself in the top six again with a time of 30.40 to complete the jumping.

The Jumpinaction.net and Jod-Z secondary school team class had seven teams competing for the winning spot. Two schools made it through to the jump-off, with a successful team from Eureka Secondary School Blue moving from third to first place this week. The second spot went to Drogheda Grammar School, in the placings again, moving up from fifth.

The third position this week went to St Mac Dara’s and St Wolstan’s, with fourth place going to Maynooth Education Campus. Mount Sackville secured fifth with a team of just three riders to finish an extremely wet and windy sixth league day.

Individuals

In the Jumpinaction.net and Jod-Z 90/95cm Open Individual Show Jumping class, it was Legends Mate ridden by Crea Byrne, who hit the top spot for the first time, in a winning time of 27.26. Riding close on her heels and securing second position, also for the first time, was Ross Mullen and Captains Orders in a time of 28.22.

The third place slot went to Alice Manoliu on Finding Finn from St Wolstan’s in a time of 28.45. Ruby Morris moved into fourth position on Kilmorgan Star in a time of 28.60, Charlotte Harten and Frenchpark Florence from Eureka slotted into fifth in a time of 29.01. Lastly, Beth Kirkpatrick and RS Womanizer representing Maynooth Education Campus made the placings for the first time, to secure sixth in a time of 33.27.

The Jod-Z Primary Interschool’s Novice Individuals had eight competitive riders, who braved the rain to jump in the morning, with five successful double clears. Ruby Wrynn and Annie jumping for The Glebe National School took the first double clear of the Primary Novice competition. Rhys Robinson and Pierce representing St Mary’s secured another clear round. The third double clear went to Isabelle Conmy and Greenhills Snowy from Rathcoffey NS.

Kaela Leamy and Magic secured a clear this week, which was followed by Maisie Lydon and Rainbow, who took the fifth double clear of the competition.

The Jod-Z Primary Interschools Open Individual had a number of brave riders all competing for the top positions. Taking first place was Isabelle Conmy on her pony Miss Ever So Clever. Robin Lynch took second place again with Mojo, representing Kilcoon and Eve Morrin rode into the top six, securing the third spot with Almighty Alvin.

Zach McDonald and Cleo from Gaelscoil Ui Fhiach made the placings for the first time taking fourth, with Maisie Connolly and Abbeylands Supreme jumping into fifth. The last slot went to another placings newcomer, Polly Geraghty and Stars at Night representing St Patrick’s NS Trim.

The Jod-Z Primary team competition had three teams battling it out today. The winning team was made up from representatives from Enfield/Maynooth. Kilcloon NS took the second place this week and they were followed by the Lismullen/Moynalty/Scoile Mhuire Carlanstown riders, who fought hard to secure third place.
