A FANTASTIC performance from Irish endurance riders Tom MacGuinness, Hilda Donahue and Martin McNamara saw them all successfully complete the demanding CEI3* 160km at the FEI 2021 Endurance European Championship test event in Ermelo, The Netherlands, last weekend.

MacGuinness with Chamaille Des Aubus, Donahue with Horseware Roble BH Magdalena and McNamara with Horseware HLM Fontana crossed the line together in 12th, 13th and 14th places respectively.

Just 20 combinations, or 35% of the field managed to complete the full course.

The Irish trio completed the course in just under nine and a half hours with an average speed of 16.9/km.

Victory in the competition went to Frances Jean Philippe from France, riding Bolt de Venelles, ahead of teammate Bourle Sonia and Sadayah el Hourya.

The result is a massive boost for Irish endurance riding ahead of the 2021 European and World Endurance Championships.
