IRISH para equestrian rider Cassandra Morris won the reserve championship in the preliminary at the Hickstead Masters this week.

Mealiff in ribbons

OFFALY rider Kevin Mealiff (25) placed second in last Thursday’s 1.40m speed class with the nine-year-old stallion Cocottas, just pipped by top American show jumper Laura Chapot. Mealiff, who is based with 2004 Olympic silver medallist Chris Kappler in New Jersey, also placed fourth in last Saturday’s 1.45m $15,000 Grand Prix with the same mount behind class winner double Olympic gold medallist McLain Ward.
