Born to run

WELL done to Aoibhinn Ruane (11) who acquitted herself with flying colours on her first time hunting side saddle while out with the Laois Hunt at their opening meet in Abbeyleix. Taking to it like a duck to water, Aoibhinn chose not to head for home with her delighted mother Helena Hennessy Ruane, insisting on coming home with the hounds instead.

Mee takes on Punchestown

ALL eyes in the Leitrim Harriers Hunt Club will be on their brave huntsman James Mee who is representing the hunt on Sunday, November 20th. It will be a great day out and tickets are only €15, available from treasurer Diane Wilson at 086-1008615. Children under 14 years are admitted free and it’s all in aid of The Injured Jockeys Fund.

200 turn out

THE Nore Vale Harriers welcomed more than 200 riders to its annual fun ride in Inistioge, Co Killkenny recently. The ride attracts riders from all over the southeast every year for its variety of fences and top class organisation.
