Autumn show a hit for Golden Grove
THE newly formed Golden Grove Riding Club hosted a hugely successful Autumn Show last Sunday at Roscrea Equestrian Centre. The inaugural show played host to a variety of disciplines including dressage, show jumping and showing.
The event catered for all members of the AIRC from clear round jumping to walk and trot dressage but also hosted some very competitive showing classes.
The AIRC would like to commend the owner of Roscrea centre, David Maher, for his hard work and dedication in organising and running the show.
South Roscommon representative Emma Glynn and her steed, Kingdom Himself, had a super clear round and were closest to the optimum time to win the Advanced Primary Show Jumping section.
Doreen Egan from the Three Counties Riding Club had the best dressage score of the day with Bula Bos, (a mare by Vancouver) taking home the top spot in the advanced primary dressage.
Well supported
The showing section had an excellent turn out and was extremely competitive. Clonshire Club member Sandra Barnwell took the overall hunter section with her mount DSC Coolruby. Kilottern’s Donna O’Neill with Honest Robber took home the top ribbons in the Racehorse to Riding Horse and Horse of the Show. Honest Robber won in Down Royal with Rachel Blackmore in January 2017 and retired from racing in March 2019.
Overall, a great day out was had by all. The dedication of the Golden Grove members is clear as they all worked extremely hard to promote and make their Autumn Show such a success.
Everyone is already looking forward to next year’s event!
