CLAREMORRIS native James Balfe was spotted ringside on Wednesday morning at the Dublin Horse Show.

Balfe, or ‘Balfey’ as he is known, is visiting from Scone in New South Wales, Australia, where he has lived for 28 years; first going out to work for Coolmore Australia in the nearby Jerry Plains.

Living in the ‘horse capital of the world’, Balfe is involved in the Scone Horse Festival and the Connemara pony society in Australia. His love for the native breed will see him visit Clifden next week for the annual Connemara Pony Show.
