MANY congratulations to Gabriella Hill, a former member of the Wexford Branch of the Irish Pony Club, who rode her first winner on the track at Leopardstown last Thursday week.

The 18-year-old apprentice, who represented the Wexfords in Minimus, show jumping, hunter trials and eventing and who also competed with Eventing Ireland and Showjumping Ireland, landed the mile handicap on the 11/8 favourite Glor Tire, who was bringing up a hat-trick of victories.

The three-year-old Teofilo filly is trained by her breeder Jim Bolger for his wife Jackie and earlier in the evening Gabriella had worn the same colours when finishing second, beaten a length, in the one mile, five-furlong apprentice handicap on Bold Approach.
