SOME weeks out from the start of the Eventing Ireland season, it has been a busy week for the organisation’s Northern Region.
Last Saturday, members and non-members competed in the first leg of the 2025 Baileys Horse Feeds Flexi Eventing series at The Meadows where the second leg takes place today and where, at 7.30pm on Tuesday, a large crowd gathered in the Conference Room for a Grassroots/Amateur information evening.
Having been welcomed by regional chair Georgia Stubington, attendees were addressed by Dora Beacom (on preparing for an event), Charlene Little (nutrition) and Rosie Alcorn (fitness). Georgia also advised the crowd on legal tack and chaired a questions and answers session following Dora’s briefing on upcoming training.
If you take a look at Eventing Ireland’s Facebook page, you can pick up some of the tips, which were shared on screen by Little and Alcorn, plus the checklist and other important information provided by Dora.
As the evening came to a close, Georgia presented Joanne Jarden with the John Martin Memorial Trophy, which is awarded annually to someone who contributes to the advancement and promotion of eventing in the region. This is usually presented at the regional Annual General Meeting, which was held on Wednesday evening, but which Jarden couldn’t attend as she was hosting a dressage webinar for Eventing Ireland.
