BRENNANSTOWN Riding School in Kilmacanogue, Co Wicklow, appeared on Virgin Media’s Ireland AM on Monday morning to promote the Association of Irish Riding Establishments (AIRE) 50th anniversary.
Jane Kennedy, who founded Brennanstown 51 years ago, was interviewed by presenter Deric Ó hArtagáin, as was her daughter Louise Bloomer and Niamh de Loughry, Deputy Chief Executive of the RDS.
“Mum set up this place 51 years ago and this was the walled garden for Hollybrook House beside us and we ride into Kilruddery estate, so we are very lucky,” Louise explained from the beautiful venue. “AIRE is the governing body for riding schools. They do yearly checks and make sure the horses are kept well, all our instructors are qualified, first aid, child protection, all those things are looked after. AIRE are celebrating 50 years and they are promoting it at Dublin Horse Show this year.
“If any kids get inspired at the horse show this week, they can go onto the AIRE website and see what riding schools are near them,” Bloomer added.
