THANKFULLY, the vast majority of competitors who fell at Grove on Sunday were uninjured but not so lucky was Leah Knight, one of a large contingent of Northern Region members at the event.
The Lisburn rider, and her husband Michael Dobbs, had travelled down from their Vumba Stables to Co Tipperary on Saturday and were much looking forward to this end-of-season outing which also took in an evening in McCarthy’s in nearbyFethard.
HEAVY FALL
Unfortunately, things didn’t pan out as planned at the event where Leah had two horses entered in the CNC*.
She never even got to sit up on Hattori Hanzo as she took a heavy fall with Kindred Spirit warming up for show jumping, breaking her collarbone in the process.
“What a way to end the season,” said Leah. “I wouldn’t mind but I haven’t had a fall all year!”
