THE new kennels of the Island Hunt are being opened on Sunday, September 17th at 3pm and all are welcome to attend.
The kennels are located at Ballyconnick, Cleariestown, Co Wexford, at the farm of new huntsman Paul Scallan. A former jockey, now dairy farmer, combining his second career with that of being a professional huntsman, Paul previously was the whipper-in to the Premier Harriers and Killinick Harriers.
Paul has hunted extensively in parts of England and Ireland and is looking forward to his first season carrying a horn in this famous bank country of North Wexford.
The Island Hounds started autumn hunting last week and all is ready for the new season ahead. This open day will consist of a tour of the new kennels, viewing the Island hounds, with light refreshments afterwards.
