AS those competing or working at the Northern Region one-day event were leaving Tyrella last Saturday evening, landowner David Corbett was welcoming guests to the engagement party of his son John and fellow polo player Hannah Anderson from Canada.
Throughout the day, a lot of interest was shown in the collapsible table fence designed and built by the Northern Region’s course designer Adam Stevenson and society steward Richard Nesbitt using the MIMS pin system which was on display beside the scorers’ unit.
If collapsed, the table, which was erected at intermediate dimensions for the event, can be lifted back into position by a team of three.
Among those inspecting the fence were Sally Corscadden, Horse Sport Ireland’s eventing high performance director, and advisor Vina Buller. Some children decided to inspect the table from underneath so it was just was well it was fixed not to collapse on Saturday!
Many who competed at Tyrella (3) were back on Easter Monday for the East Down Pony Club’s event which attracted an entry of over 170.
