VICHAI Srivaddhanaprabha, the founder of the Thailand Polo Association, tragically died in a helicopter crash while leaving the Leicester City Football Club following the team’s 1-1 draw against West Ham.
At the time of his death outside King Power Stadium, the 60-year-old was chairman of the football club, and was an amateur polo player after founding the Thailand Polo Association in 1998.
The billionaire set up VR Polo Club in Bangkok, Thailand, and was president of Ham Polo Club in London from 2008 to 2012.
He set up a hugely successful chain of duty-free shops and was also owner of the Belgian football club OH Leuven.
Four other people were killed last Saturday evening when the helicopter plummeted to the ground and exploded in a nearby parking lot outside of the stadium.
